This segment of VendBuzz provides viewers with a brief description of suppliers’ newest offerings, similar to the New Products Showcase seen on some conventions’ exhibit floors.
For the vending/OCS suppliers (equipment, products and services), the New Products Showcase is a service to your customers who view the site. More than that, it is free to those suppliers to the duo-industry.
Note to Suppliers: All you have to do is send a short press release (with photo - optional) to dan@vendbuzz.com, as you do to the industry trade magazines. It will be edited, as is done by the trade press, to fit the format of the segment. Your announcement will remain in the Showcase for about a month.
Your announcement of a new item must be of recent vintage (within the previous six months); otherwise, it will not be considered as new and will not qualify for placement in the Showcase. We endeavor to keep this segment current with truly new introductions.

Something Really New for Vending Operators!
No, it’s not a new product; it’s a new way of selling that increases sales over and beyond traditional vending, according to Freedom Shopping LLC of Hickory, NC.
Designed specifically for the vending industry, franchises are available. According to Kevin Bailey, Sales Manager, Freedom Shopping LLC announces the launch of its new "automated self checkout kiosk".
Mr. Bailey says, "This patent pending technology was designed specifically for the vending industry. The Freedom Market utilizes radio frequency technology to offer its customers a limitless amount of product variety.
"The RFID technology, along with video surveillance, creates theft deterrence and a speedy checkout. Markets that have been in operation since early 2005 produced a 50% to 100% increase in sales volume. Labor and investment to run the Markets are equivalent to current vending locations. Online monitoring of the market allows the operator to have total control of the pricing, sales, cash, inventory, and expiration dates. Limited franchises are currently being offered. The new system will be on display at the NAMA Expo in October and the IH/MRS (Hospitality) show in November.”

SwampCat Insect Repellent Vending Machines Available Nationwide
Mt Pleasant, SC, August 30, 2005 - SwampCat Brands Inc. of Mt Pleasant, SC,announces the introduction of their new "Outdoor Solutions" vending machine to market individually packaged SwampCat Insect Wipes. The mechanical vending machine provides single-use insect repellent wipes available where people enjoy outside activities. "Ball fields, parks, campgrounds and marinas are among some of the locations where people just forgot to bring bug repellents", says Timothy Karnes, CEO and founder.
SwampCat Brands Inc. was started two years ago with the idea of single packaged insect wipes that one could put in their tackle box, glove box or purse. The formula is EPA registered and carries the CDC recommended amount of DEET for personal protection for up to five hours against mosquitoes, gnats, biting flies and no-see-ums, according to Mr. Karnes.
The vending idea came about when Mr. Karnes experienced his own daughters playing in community athletics and watching other parents getting eaten alive in the stands. "Every week I watched cans of insect spray being passed throughout the spectators, said Karnes. "And with the spread of West Nile Virus and other mosquito bourne diseases, people really need to protect themselves when they are outside".
The Town of Pleasant, a Charleston, SC, community, realized the need for insect protection at their ball fields and the first insect vending machine was installed last week at Sloan Ball Field. Ted Summerford, Director for the Recreation Department said, "If this works, the public might demand we put these machines at all of our fields and parks".
SwampCat Brands Inc. is in talks with vending machine distributors in Florida, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Idaho and Kansas. Mr. Karnes says, "We also think it could be an excellent opportunity for people wanting to start a new part-time vending business".
